Naturopathic Support for Gut Health, Hormones, Fatigue & Family Health
Naturopathy looks at how different parts of your health may be connected — including nutrition, digestion, hormones, stress, sleep, lifestyle, environment and your personal health history.
You Know Something Feels Off, You Just Want to Understand Why
I work with adults, children and families experiencing a wide range of health concerns. Sometimes there’s a clear diagnosis. Other times, tests appear “normal” but you still don’t feel like yourself.
Every symptom is your body trying to tell you something.
Instead of just managing what shows up on the surface, I work with clients to uncover the underlying imbalances—gut issues, hormonal shifts, nutrient gaps—that often drive it.
The goal isn't a quick fix; it's understanding why your body is behaving this way, so we can get to the root of it. Getting to the root cause often means looking under the hood with pathology testing, which forms a core part of how I work.
With years of clinical practice behind me, here's where I spend most of my time:
-
Your gut affects everything from mood to immunity to skin — so when it's out of balance, the ripple effects show up everywhere.
IBS
Food intolerances & allergies
SIBO
Dysbiosis
Leaky gut
Candida & yeast overgrowth
Reflux & indigestion
Bloating, constipation & diarrhoea
-
Neurodivergent kids (and adults) often experience the world — and their bodies — differently, and standard approaches don't always fit, or standard approaches form part of the whole picture. I also work with a wide range of everyday childhood health concerns, looking at the gut-brain connection, immunity, nutrient status and family-wide support to help families thrive, not just cope.
ADHD & autism support
Gut-brain connection
Sleep difficulties
Nutrient insufficiencies affecting focus & mood, energy & gut health
Childhood eczema, allergies & digestive issues
Recurrent illness & low immunity in kids
Family-centred, whole-child approach
-
Hormones don't work in isolation — when one is off, it can throw the whole system out of sync. I help you understand what's actually happening beneath the symptoms.
PCOS & endometriosis
Fibroids
Infertility & IVF support
Preconception care
Perimenopause & menopause
Irregular, absent, painful or heavy periods
PMS & hormonal acne
Fatigue & exhaustion
Hypothyroidism
Insomnia
-
Skin is often the visible sign of what's happening internally — gut, hormones, immunity and stress all show up here first.
Acne, including hormonal acne
Eczema & psoriasis
Cold sores & hives
-
When immunity is under-functioning or working against you, it affects every part of daily life. I support the body in finding balance.
Parasitic infections
Hashimoto's | Graves
Coeliac disease
Rheumatoid & psoriatic arthritis
Frequent infections & lowered immunity
-
This is an area that's often overlooked or dismissed — but it deserves the same root-cause approach as everything else. I support women through recurrent and stubborn issues in this space with care and without judgement.
Bacterial vaginosis (BV)
Recurrent vaginal candida (thrush)
Vaginal microbiome imbalances
UTIs & recurrent infections
Vulval irritation & discomfort
General intimate health & prevention
Functional Testing
When We Need to Look a Little Deeper
As part of your consultation, I may suggest testing to understand what's actually happening inside your body, rather than treating symptoms alone.
It's how we turn a vague picture into a clear one, and target treatment at the real cause of your health challenge.
Testing is never compulsory — it's simply a tool.
Where routine pathology is appropriate, I'll refer you to your GP. Where a deeper, more functional picture is needed,
I offer a wide range of options myself. What we're trying to do is bring together as many pieces of your health puzzle as possible — so when we meet, I have a clear picture and roadmap, to help guide your treatment.
Testing can include areas such as:
Gut health · hormones · thyroid markers · nutrients · iron · glucose & insulin · inflammation · digestive testing · SIBO & H. pylori · HTMA · genetic testing
"However, testing is one piece of the puzzle.
Numbers on a page don't tell your whole story — you do.
I use testing to inform my thinking, not to replace it; the aim is always to treat you, not a result on a lab report."
-
General Pathology looks at how your results sit against standard baselines — flagging changes in the structure or function of your body. This might include:
Thyroid hormone profile
Full blood count
Inflammatory markers (CRP, Hs-CRP, ESR)
Vitamins & minerals
Glucose & insulin
Iron studies
MTHFR
SIBO & H. pylori testing
Male & female hormone profiles
-
Functional Testing looks deeper — assessing how a particular organ or system is functioning, rather than just checking for disease. This might include:
Digestive stool analysis
Heavy metal hair analysis
Allergy & food intolerance testing
Salivary & urine hormone testing
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA)
Genetic testing
And more
You may also be asked to complete a few questionnaires along the way — covering lifestyle, stress and general wellbeing — to help build the fullest current understanding of your health.
Bloating. Fatigue. Hormonal changes. Poor sleep. Allergies. Digestive issues. Or simply knowing that something doesn’t feel quite right.
Your symptoms are part of a bigger picture. I take the time to understand your health history, patterns, lifestyle and individual needs so we can explore what may be contributing to how you feel — and create a practical plan to support your health.
A Root- Cause Approach
Looking Beyond the Symptom
I don’t believe health is about chasing one symptom after another.
Naturopathy looks at how different parts of your health may be connected — including nutrition, digestion, hormones, stress, sleep, lifestyle, environment and your personal health history.
Depending on what we uncover, your individualised plan may include:
Nutritional support
Herbal medicine
Targeted supplements
Lifestyle strategies
Pathology or functional testing where appropriate
The aim is to help you understand your body better, support its normal functions and make realistic changes that work within your life.

It's a fair question - and I'd ask it too. The honest truth is that natural medicine is not usually an overnight fix, and things that work too quickly rarely tend to last.
I often gently remind people that it may take more than one bottle of herbs to start feeling better. However, once we find the right approach for you - the one that truly fits your body - it's amazing how wisely the body responds. Some people notice their symptoms ease sooner than expected, especially once we've crafted the right prescription together and made a few simple, manageable changes along the way.
How soon you notice change depends on a few things: how long you've had your symptoms, how consistently you follow your plan, and how your body responds to the herbal medicine and supplements prescribed.
Think of it like planting a seed - you can't just pop it in the soil and expect it to flourish overnight. It needs the right prep, consistent care, water and sunlight to grow.
Most people need more than one appointment to get to the root of what's going on. That said, even small, simple changes can create real, lasting results. With commitment and a bit of patience, progress is absolutely possible. What have you got to lose?

It's a great question, and 1 that matters more than most people realise. Supplements from health food stores and supermarkets often:
Contain lower doses of key nutrients
Use cheap forms of nutrients that are harder for your body to absorb (e.g., iron can come as Ferrous Sulphate or Ferrous Bisglycinate - and the form matters for how well your body uses it)
Vary in manufacturing quality, which can sometimes do more harm than good
I prescribe supplements that fall under the 'practitioner-only' category regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration. These are higher quality, use bioavailable forms of nutrients and herbs for the best possible absorption, and are generally more potent - which is exactly why they're prescribed under practitioner guidance, to keep you safe.

As of 1 July 2025, the Australian Government reinstated naturopathy and Western herbal medicine as eligible therapies for private health insurance extras cover, after several years of exclusion. That said, it's now up to each individual insurer to decide whether and when they'll offer this coverage, so timelines vary from fund to fund. I'd recommend checking directly with your insurer to see where they're at, and the NHAA's information page is a great place to stay across the latest updates. -
Please keep taking any prescribed medication as directed by your doctor, unless they advise otherwise.I'm trained to safely integrate natural medicine alongside conventional treatment, including for specific health conditions and dietary restrictions, and I'm always happy to work alongside your other healthcare providers. I'll also encourage you to let your doctor know about any herbs or supplements I recommend, so your whole care team is on the same page.

Yes. There's a growing and substantial body of high-quality research behind many of the herbal medicines and nutrients used in naturopathic practice. You'll find this research on PubMed and in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.

A Nutritionist works with nutritional medicine alone to support your health.
A Herbalist works with herbal medicine alone.
A Naturopath is trained in both nutritional and herbal medicine, and often draws on a broader range of techniques to support your health holistically.
Whoever you choose to see, it's worth checking their qualifications. Look for a practitioner who is degree-trained and registered with a recognised Australian governing body. Some short courses offer little in the way of scientific grounding or supervised clinical experience, so it pays to check.

Your initial consultation runs for 60 minutes and gives us plenty of time to get a full picture of your health - your history, current symptoms, lifestyle and goals. From there, I'll put together a personalised treatment plan, which may include dietary guidance, herbal medicine, supplements, or further testing if needed.
-
Naturopathy takes a whole-person approach, so it can support a wide range of concerns - including digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, stress and fatigue, skin conditions, sleep difficulties and general wellbeing. If you're not sure whether I can help with what you're experiencing, that's exactly what the free chat is for.

It helps to jot down your current symptoms, any medications or supplements you're taking, and a rough diet and lifestyle snapshot before you come in. Don't worry about getting it perfect - we'll fill in the gaps together.
